Striking the balance between beauty and the untypical, Brenda’s art consists of imaginary characters who design their own coexistence policies. Terming these ‘Prototypes’, the most recognized are the monsterwoman and the beasts, characters with strong sexual connotations. Alternating between digital and traditional media, the powerful influence of both Japanese woodcuts and Soviet decorative objects is apparent, contributing to the underlying stories that are highly symbolic and conceptual within each piece.
